STEVENS POINT, WI – April 25, 2025 — A growing movement to support local artisans and entrepreneurs will take center stage in downtown Stevens Point this spring, as MadeCentral Market returns to The Annex at The Opera House for a one-day shopping event filled with handcrafted goods and community connection.

Held on Saturday, May 10th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the spring market will showcase 16 women-owned small businesses from across Central Wisconsin. Shoppers can expect to find a thoughtfully curated mix of artisan jewelry, pottery, home goods, baked treats, candles, textiles, and more.

“Our community is full of incredibly talented makers who deserve a space where their work is seen and valued,” said Bridget Chariton, market organizer and owner of Cherry Tree Creatives. “MadeCentral Market isn’t just about buying local—it’s about building real connections between artisans and the people who support them.”

The market is held at The Annex, a restored historic venue located in the heart of downtown Stevens Point. Once home to a Book World bookstore, the space now features original maple floors, pressed tin ceilings, and a two-story atrium that creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for events of all kinds.

“The Annex is unlike any other venue in Central Wisconsin,” said Erin Batzler, Event Coordinator and Brand Manager for The Opera House, LLC. “It’s warm, it’s open, and it tells a story. When people walk through the doors, they immediately feel a sense of place—like they’re part of something special.”

The Annex is part of the broader Opera House redevelopment project, which includes the restoration of the historic Fox Theater next door. Spearheaded by local entrepreneur T. Senner, the revitalization project aims to breathe new life into the downtown arts and event scene while preserving its architectural legacy.

“We designed this space to be flexible, beautiful, and deeply rooted in our community’s history,” added Batzler. “It’s not just about hosting events—it’s about creating experiences. And MadeCentral Market fits that mission perfectly.”
“By supporting events like MadeCentral Market, we’re spotlighting local talent and building momentum for a more vibrant downtown,” Batzler said.

The May market is expected to draw a strong crowd for spring shopping, drink specials, and opportunities to connect with artists and fellow community members throughout the day.
